The film Goodbye, Julia made history as the first Sudanese film to reach international recognition by being featured in the Un Certain Regard competition at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in France, held between May 16 and May 27, according to Deadlines website.

The film stars theater actress and singer Iman Yousif, renowned fashion model and former Miss Sudan Seran Ryak, veteran actor Nizar Jumaa, and Qeer Duini, who was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for East Africa and the Horn of Africa by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Directed by Mohammed Kordofani, the film has garnered widespread attention, with Sudan making headlines in global news due to the intense fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in and around the capital, Khartoum, in recent weeks, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee.
