4,272 displaced families to Kassala State

Kassala: Citizens

The flow of displaced people to Kassala state continues due to the conflicts in the capital, Khartoum. The State Emergency Committee, a government committee, has registered 4,272 families, while the enumeration process is still ongoing. The enumeration process faces challenges due to weak coordination between relevant initiatives and the vast geographical area of the state.

The Emergency Room, a youth community initiative, continues its activities in supporting the evacuation of those in need from war-affected areas to the state and hosting some of them. The initiative provides food, medical treatment, and psychological and social support to the displaced.

The Emergency Rooms activities include training young volunteers in relevant fields of work. Tomorrow, on Saturday, a workshop will be held to train 15 volunteers in humanitarian work skills in partnership with the Civil Laboratory in the state.

Last week, the East Center in Kassala city, a voluntary organization, organized a training workshop on peace journalism and media, in which 20 volunteers participated. This workshop aimed to preserve the cohesion of the community, mitigate the effects of war, and promote a culture of peaceful coexistence.
