Evacuation of the vicinity of the temporary headquarters of the United Nations mission in Sudan from nationals of African countries.

The authorities in the Red Sea State evacuated dozens of families from several African countries from the Coral Hotel park, which has become the temporary headquarters of the United Nations mission in Sudan.

Many foreigners who fled from the capital Khartoum to Port Sudan became stranded due to the suspension of evacuation operations about two weeks ago. With the lack of shelter facilities, they were forced to stay in the open for over a month around the famous Coral hotel, around the walls of the Red Sea State government headquarters, along the Port Sudan corniche opposite the police headquarters, and in the municipal park.

This area includes most of the official civil and military circles and is the traditional gathering place for the citys residents and visitors.

The city has become a preferred destination for thousands of Sudanese displaced from the capital Khartoum, resulting in overcrowding in schools, dormitories, social centers, and some mosques that have been converted into temporary shelters for a large number of displaced people due to the war.

There are no statistics available on the number of stranded foreigners in the city, but the suspension of maritime evacuation operations has led to an increase in the number of stranded individuals from various African and Arab nationalities. Meanwhile, Arab and Asian countries have continued their efforts to evacuate their nationals by air.
