6 Killed and Deteriorating Security and Health Situation in Zalingei

Six citizens have lost their lives in the city of Zalingei, and others have not been accounted for, in addition to a number of injuries resulting from clashes between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces. A statement from the Zalingei Resistance Committees Coordination issued yesterday, Tuesday, stated that the situation continues to deteriorate. The statement revealed that theft operations are still ongoing, with the complete looting of Zalingeis local market, the burning of documents and files, and the destruction of the power station, while communication remains severed in the city.

The statement mentioned that civilians are being detained in the Rapid Support Forces headquarters, while residents are facing difficulties in moving and traveling outside the city.

The coordination warned of the risk of the kidney dialysis center coming to a halt due to fuel and medication shortages. It also clarified that the citys hospital is out of service after being hit by a shell, and the healthcare centers affiliated with health insurance are no longer operating except for the partial functioning of Al-Hamidiyya Center.

The statement highlighted the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the city and revealed the displacement of residents from the western, stadium, and parts of the market neighborhoods after the Rapid Support Forces took control of some houses. The coordination warned of a humanitarian catastrophe and malnutrition diseases due to the depletion of basic commodities
