A young man slaps his father at a displaced camp in Halfa

Moatinoon - Altagi Osman.
A young man physically assaulted his father after he refused to return his mobile phone at a displaced camp in the city of Old Halfa.

Residents of the Great Mosque camp woke up just before midnight on Saturday to the sound of a dispute between a son and his father. The father forcibly took away his sons mobile phone after repeatedly instructing him to turn off the phone and go to sleep. The son attacked, trying to snatch the phone from his fathers pocket while he was engrossed in an electronic game, delivering slaps and punches to his face.

Camp visitors intervened to break up the altercation and took the son away from his father, then calmed down the father who was trembling in shock.

Maotinoon observers noted an atmosphere of tension and concern in the displaced camps in the Northern State following the tightened entry procedures imposed by the Egyptian authorities, linking it to obtaining a visa for all arrivals from Sudan, contrary to the previous years practice of exempting men over fifty, women, and children from entry visa.
