17 Civilians Killed in the Southern Belt, Including Children

Seventeen civilians, including 5 children, were killed in an airstrike carried out by the Sudanese army in the Mayo area this morning.

Reports from the area indicate that 11 others were injured and transferred to the nearby Bashair Hospital, while the identification and evacuation of the victims are still ongoing. The Mayo, South Khartoum Emergency Room stated that 25 houses were destroyed due to the airstrike.

Since the start of the war, the number of casualties in the area has reached 84 deaths and 1,248 injuries, according to a statement by the Emergency Room last Tuesday.

The Mayo region in South Khartoum known as Janoub Alhizam has been witnessing continuous clashes between the army forces and the Rapid Support Forces since the outbreak of the fighting on April 15th, resulting in the deaths of dozens of civilians and various injuries to others.
