Nyala is dying

From the Facebook page of journalist Issa Dafallah:

Since last Tuesday, Nyala has been living in a catastrophic situation with ongoing clashes in the Khartoum Bilail neighborhood between the army and the Rapid Support Forces. The violence continues to claim the lives of civilians, with a complete power outage and most of the day having no communication, and when it returns, it is very poor.

The closure of the main market and the prevention of access to it, as well as the closure of most of the citys main roads, the looting of Nyalas popular market, which used to operate alone in the southern part of the city by the Rapid Support Forces, and the scarcity of consumer goods with a crazy increase in prices. The price of a gallon of gas has reached 22,000 pounds, causing most of the taxi owners to park them at home because they can no longer cover the expenses.

A loaf of bread costs 200 pounds, if available, and a bar of laundry soap costs 1,000 pounds, while wheat is ground at the mill for 1,000 pounds.

The situation is funereal. The smell of death permeates everywhere, and the number of dead and injured is high, with difficulties in moving between neighborhoods. Misery, suffering, and poverty are evident on peoples faces, and the sky consoles them with rain, while their tongues curse Hamdan and Al-Burhan.

The only trade that thrived is drugs and narcotics, and even the sellers of Araki have retired from their profession due to looting.
