Civilians Killed and Injured in Nyala Amid Clashes Between Army and Rapid Support Forces

Today, five civilians were killed and over 40 others were injured as clashes continued between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state.

According to media reports, the Turkish hospital in the city has received 44 injuries so far, while the educational hospital and the specialized hospital have been taken out of service due to their location in the conflict zone.

Since yesterday, Nyala has been witnessing clashes between the 16th Infantry Division and the Rapid Support Forces, who have been using civilians homes as platforms to launch mortar and rocket attacks, using the residents as human shields to prevent their departure from the neighborhoods.

In a related incident, a storage facility in the Abu Shouk displaced persons camp in North Darfur was looted on Thursday night, with food supplies, blankets, and tents stolen.
