Farahs Story

Uncle Anwar Salem reunited with his family and relatives after a long absence.

Amidst the joyful celebrations, Uncle Anwars family gathered again after losing contact with him for a considerable period of time.

It is worth mentioning that Uncle Anwar arrived in Kassala as an unknown person, coming from Khartoum in critical health condition. After necessary procedures by the Kassala Emergency Room committees, accommodation was provided for him. The health committee of the room was then involved, and they contacted legal authorities, Kassala Teaching Hospital, and the psychiatric hospital.

Uncle Anwars health condition required special attention, and the diagnosis and tests showed a deterioration in his mental state, necessitating specialized care in the department of psychiatric and psychological diseases.

The Kassala Emergency Room continued its efforts to find Uncle Anwars family. After numerous attempts, they successfully connected with his sister in Halfa Al Jadidah on July 24, 2023, after 15 days of being under the monitoring and care of Kassala Emergency Room volunteers.

His sister, Fatima, recounted all the details of losing contact with Uncle Anwar for nearly 25 days and mentioned that they had arrived in Halfa Al Jadidah from Khartoum in May of the previous year, fleeing the woes of war. After two months, her brother Anwar traveled to visit relatives in Wadi Halfa. On his way back from Arqin to Atbara, communication was lost with him.

On behalf of the Kassala Emergency Room, we extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to Uncle Anwars return and provided him with what he needed on this journey that started from Khartoum, then Halfa Al Jadidah, then Wadi Halfa, where communication was lost, and finally, Kassala city, which embraced him through its youth volunteers at the Emergency Room.

We share these beautiful moments with the family, wishing for the continuation of joy amidst this painful reality, and may God preserve it.
