Rapid Support Forces attack Al-Ilifon with at least one dead

Al-Ilifon - moatinoon
Yesterday, a force from the Rapid Support Forces attacked the Al-Ilifon area in the East Nile locality, targeting the Engineers camp affiliated with the Sudanese Armed Forces.

Eyewitnesses said that a military force crossed the Al-Qatat village north of Al-Ilifon, and clashed with all kinds of light and heavy weapons with the armys first position in the area at 2 pm yesterday. The clashes continued until 6 pm.

A number of citizens complained about the Rapid Support Forces entering their homes, stealing cars, and some possessions.

According to testimonies from citizens to the site, one of the local residents was killed by a stray bullet, while others were injured, but not counted. Pockets of the Rapid Support Forces are still scattered in the Al-Ilifon neighborhoods, and an exchange of gunfire took place this morning between them and the army.

Emergency lawyers warned in a statement today against the use of fighter jets, air raids, and artillery shelling in populated areas, as the region has received hundreds of civilians fleeing from various cities in the capital. They pointed out that the shelling destroys homes and civil properties protected under international humanitarian law. Voices have been raised about the use of fighter jets to deal with the developments in the Al Ailafon area.
