Child Killed after Clashes Renew in Al-Abyad City

At least one child was killed and dozens of civilians were injured after clashes resumed between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in Al-Abyad city, the capital of North Kordofan state, earlier today.

An eyewitness reported that both sides used all kinds of light and heavy weapons in their confrontations in the western neighborhoods of Al-Abyad city. Al-Abyad Teaching Hospital and Al-Daman Hospital received large numbers of injured and wounded individuals.

Activists in the city launched appeals for blood donations to aid the injured, as well as calls to benefactors to provide fuel for the electricity generator of Al-Abyad Teaching Hospital to meet the needs of and aid the injured and wounded.

They also urged all citizens to stay away from the areas of clashes and to exercise caution and vigilance.
