You will die in the twentieth wins the jackpot at the Nouakchott Film Festival

The Nouakchott International Film Festival announced its first October 15 awards, although its activities were suspended two days before yesterdays closing ceremony; to mourn the lives of martyrs in the Gaza Strip.

The Sudanese film You will Die in the Twentieth, by Amjad Abu Al-Ala, won the festivals grand prize.

The Omani film Ashes, by Suleiman Al-Khalili, won the first prize for short feature films.

The Moroccan film Al-Abdul, directed by Abdelelilah Al-Jawhari, won the Grand Jury Award for Feature Films.

The jury of the short film competition gave special recognition to the Mauritanian film Noise by Aziz Allman, and as part of encouraging young people to award the festival other awards for the films Workshops, Content Makers and Senna Mobile.

The festivals administration suspended its activities two days before the closing ceremony and said in a press release that the decision was in line with the decision taken by the Mauritanian authorities to declare public mourning of martyrs lives in the Gaza Strip.
