Moatinoon
United States Congress Foreign Relations Committee member Jim Risch expressed concern about the Administrations unclear policy on the Sudan.

Addressing a committee hearing yesterday, he said he had asked President Biden to appoint a special envoy for the Sudan.

He stressed the United States Administrations need for an experienced diplomat uniquely dedicated to the Sudan to guide United States policy, assist the Sudanese people, coordinate with regional partners and deal with complex diplomacy to stabilize and promote genuine democracy.

In his speech aimed at discussing the situation in the Sahel and West Africa, Risch said that the United States Administration should act swiftly to take a formal decision on the ongoing atrocities in Darfur and other areas of the Sudan. Stressing that this step will make clear to the world his countrys position on the killings and human rights violations occurring in the Sudan.
