Addis Meeting: The Militarys Exit from Politics and the Economy

The preparatory meeting for the Civil Democratic Forces, which concluded today in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, authorized the foundations and principles of ending the war and establishing the Sudanese State on the basis of citizenship. The meeting emphasized the security and military systems exit from politics and the economy as a condition for political transition.

The meeting stressed that the cessation of the war, reconstruction and foundation must be based on a negotiated political process that excludes no political faction other than the National Congress, the Islamic Movement and its confrontations and all those who support and support the April 15 war.

The final communiqué of the meeting affirmed the preservation of the Sudans unity and sovereignty over its entire territory and the guarantee of an independent and sovereign democratic civilian State.

The political transition meeting stipulated the need for security and military reform to reach a single professional army, and for the army, security, police and rapid support from political and economic activity.

The meeting was named Dr. Abdalla Hamdok to chair the leadership body to prepare for the General Conference of Democratic Civil Forces to be held in 6 weeks time.

The meeting agreed to allocate 70% for the representation of non-partisan forces in the conference and 30% for the representation of political organizations, alliances and armed struggle movements.
