Saudi Arabia: We support Sudan in its crisis to reach political agreement

Saudi Arabia welcomes the resumption of talks between representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and representatives of the Rapid Support Forces in the city of Jeddah, which is re-launching today with the facilitation of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America in partnership with one representative of the African Union and IGAD.

In a statement today, Saudi Arabia urged the parties to resume what was agreed between them in the Jeddah Declaration (commitment to protect civilians in the Sudan) last May, and the short-term ceasefire agreement signed between the parties that same month.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed its desire for unity in the classroom, halting the conflict for blood and lifting the suffering of the Sudanese people.

The Saudi statement underscored the Kingdoms support for the end of this crisis and the Sudans exit from it in order to reach a political agreement whereby security and stability for the Sudan and its people will be achieved.
