A large wave of displacement from the neighbourhoods of El Fasher

Today, the city of El Fasher witnessed a major displacement of the civilian population from the northern and eastern neighbourhoods to the southern neighbourhoods, while part of them were displaced outside the city, fleeing anticipated battles between the Sudanese army and rapid support.

Identical sources said the city witnessed heavy gunfire yesterday.

The Governor of North Davor State, Nimr Mohammed Abdulrahman, lamented the renewed fighting in El Fasher. In todays statement, Nimer appealed to the citizens of El Fasher to leave areas under the circle of engagement between the warring parties. He also appealed to both parties to allow citizens to leave for their lives.

Nimr said that endeavours were continuing with the parties with a view to stopping the war and sparing the citizens danger and the mandate from destruction.

For his part, the Governor of Iqman Darfur, Minni Arko Minawi, in a tweet on the X platform, demanded that the RSF avoid attacking the cities of El Fasher and El Geneina.
