Al-Gadarif kills a child and Kassala pending the opening of schools by overcoming obstacles

Eastern States - Moatinoon
A child died and others were wounded today in the city of Al-Qadarif and the state capital, after police used tear gas and batons to remove displaced persons from the armed forces war with the RSF from educational facilities used as shelters.

In a statement today, the Qadarif Resistance Committees condemned the use of excessive violence by police forces to evacuate displaced persons at the old Qadarif School centres and the interior of Omar bin Abdulaziz and Al-Rashid. Todays events had led to the death of a child and the injury of a number of citizens, as well as the arrest of displaced 6 and severe beatings and inhuman treatment. The statement called on the Government of Gedaref State to immediately stop violence against displaced persons.

In Kassala State, the State Governor has made it possible to open the States schools by overcoming all obstacles and challenges, notably the salary of the teacher and the evacuees of the displaced schools after preparing new shelters for them, and to prepare the schools to be ready to receive pupils and students.

Participating in the School Opening Advocacy Workshop yesterday, he said that the process of reopening schools is everyones responsibility and is one of the major issues of concern to the government and society today. He noted a number of challenges faced by each educational stage, such as the lack of a date for the Sudanese certificate examinations and the absence of an average third-grade course.

Some 60 local schools in Kassala host thousands of displaced persons after being converted into shelters for Khartoum War arrivals.

Earlier, the Sovereign Council directed the Ministries of Education and Higher Education to resume study in safe states in early November.
