Karari Teachers Committee condemns arrest of one of its members

The Fatah Teachers Committee, in Karari-Omdurman, condemned the arrest of one of its employees and called on those who arrested him to release him immediately.

According to a statement issued by the Committee today, on November 25, Mr. Isam al-Din Ibrahim al-Tayeb was arrested in Fatah, Karri locality, without specifying who had arrested him. The Committee stated that it was not aware of his fate or the reason for his arrest.

She appealed for solidarity on the part of all teachers and, in particular, repeat teachers to release him.

The Sudanese Teachers Committee had previously issued a statement yesterday, stating that Tayeb, the former technical director of the Fatah Department and director of the 71st Lane Housing School, had been arrested without charge by military intelligence and that his family did not know where he was being detained. The Commission held military intelligence responsible for his safety.
