Alshjara citizens, south of Khartoum demand safe passages to exit

Moatinoon
The Committee for the Resistance of the Tree and Hamadeb appealed to regional authorities and international organizations to protect civilians stranded in the region, and called for the facilitation of safe evacuations for all those wishing to leave the area, as well as the opening of safe humanitarian corridors to enable them to exit peacefully.

The commission said that the people of the Shajrah and Hamadab area have been living for months under tight siege from all sides because of the war since last April. A statement by the Committee yesterday added that the intensification of fighting has led to humanitarian, health, social and economic repercussions that have clearly adversely affected the human beings of the tree area, Hamadab, and even citizens from other areas.

The statement revealed the interruption of livelihoods, services and communications as well as the absence of lifesaving medicines, as the region became an arena for ongoing battles. The war had affected many parents behaviours, especially children, and had caused them much insomnia and psychological fatigue.
