Lost War Generals

Abdulrahman Al-Ajib
For two decades, the generals of Darfurs armed movements have been making loose bets and agreements. Since the outbreak of war in the Darfur region in 200‪3, the situation has remained the same and has not improved at all, despite the signing of peace agreements. - Abuja - Doha - Finally, the Juba Peace Agreement, but these agreements have remained on paper and have been implemented only by the side of participation in power. In all the fateful battles over the countrys political future, the generals of the armed movements, namely, Minawi and Jebril Ibrahim, continued to stand against the peoples choices, as evidenced by their organization of the sit-in of the Republican palace that overthrew the transitional Government.

Since the outbreak of the war between the army and rapid support, on 15 April, all states of Darfur, with the exception of East Darfur State, have witnessed heavy battles resulting in the killing and displacement of a large number of citizens in the cities of El Fasher, Kutum, Nyala, Kassam, Kabalingi, El Geneina, Wardama, Kabiya, kabiya, Kabiya, Kalbas and umah and umah. other areas.

The Juba Peace Agreement, signed by the Transitional Government with armed struggle movements, did not prevent the cessation of escalating violence in the Darfur region, and the armed movements attribute insecurity to the failure to implement the security arrangements protocol until the April war broke out and the reality became more complicated.

In a surprise move, two armed movements signatories to the Juba Peace Agreement declared their siding with the Sudanese army in its fight against the RSF The Sudan Liberation Movements, led by Minni Arko Minawi, Justice and Equality, led by Gibril Ibrahim, announced in mid-November a departure from neutrality over the war between the army and the RSF since mid-April, and announced participation in military operations to protect civilians.

A statement issued by the two movements accused the Rapid Support Forces of committing massive human rights violations in the Sudan, in particular those documented in Darfur. It was imperative to take the more rightful attitude of not merely writing statements of denunciation and denunciation and awaiting further bloodshed crimes. The struggle must continue with all State institutions to remove the countrys misery. The statement stressed that systematic killings and degradation of human dignity by RSF, as well as looting of public and private property, could not be silent.

In the other bank, the leaders of three of the five movements representing the Darfur route of the Juba Agreement for Peace in the Sudan declared that they were not concerned with the Sudan Liberation, Justice and Equality Movements declaration of impartiality in the war. In a statement, Hadi Idris, Chairman of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM-TC), Tahir Hajar, Chairman of the Sudan Liberation Forces (SLF) Caucus, and Hafiz Ibrahim Abdelnaby, Vice-Chairman of the Sudanese Alliance, confirmed that the positions expressed by SLM Movement Chairman

According to the statement, the announcement by the participants in the press conference (Minawi and Jabril) of their bias towards one of the parties to the conflict contravened what had been agreed since the start of the war on April 15. He added: "This position represents only those who declared it. Here we, the signatories of this statement, affirm that we stand by our principled attitude towards this war, which is impartial and unbiased, while striving to halt the war through peaceful negotiated means and restore a democratic civil transition. "

The leaders of the three movements rejected what they intended to drag the Darfur region into a civil war sought by seditious advocates of a policy agenda that would serve the malicious objectives of the remnants of the regime -- according to the statement -- and called on the leaders of the civil administration, civil society organizations and political forces to work to prevent tribal discord and shame its parties.

The Juba Peace Agreement was signed on October 3, 2020 between the transitional government and armed struggle movements, and the Juba Agreement included a number of protocols. However, more than three years after the signing of the Juba Peace Agreement and the appointment of Minawi as Governor of the Darfur region, and Jabril Ibrahim as Minister of Finance, the situation of citizens in Darfur remains the same and has even been made worse by the resurgence of conflicts in the region, along with the results of the April war.

It seems clear that the position declared by both Minawi and Jabril was under pressure from Sudanese Army Chief General Abdul Fatah al-Burhan s Liberation Movement Chairman, the Transitional Council was removed from the Sovereign Council. The dismissal of Hafiz Ibrahim Abdelnaby, Vice-President of the Sudanese Alliance, as Minister of Livestock and the removal of Taher Abubakar as Chairman of the Sudan Liberation Forces Caucus from the Sovereign Council.

The reality confirms that the spectre of civil war continues to threaten the people of Darfur owing to Berkuls failure to implement security arrangements and the proliferation of weapons, as well as the biased attitude of war declared by Minawi and Jabril. According to specialists on the Territory, given the fragility of life in Darfur, the situation in the region is difficult to improve, especially as many challenges, and the situation of Minawi and Jebril may lead to armed confrontations involving the Territory in a civil war.

And apparently it was the cynicism of fate that made generals who didnt know much in politics. and the generals journey from 2003 to date remained full of dark areas and planted with traps, The generals are still gleefully looking at the masses they address and assuming stupidity. But in fact she was completely aware of the lesson, and she would inevitably rise one day to go with these generals to the unsubstantiated massacre of history, Her time would know that the masses were decisive in any political process in the country and not the failed generals and political leaders.
