UN: More than 12 thousand people killed by war in Sudan

The United Nations announced on Thursday that more than 12 thousand people have been killed in the war between the army and the Sudans "rapid support" forces since April.

The United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs in the Sudan (OCHA) said in a statement copied by Anadolu: "More than 12.190 thousand people have been killed since the outbreak of fighting by the Sudanese army and rapid support in mid-April, including the 1.300 people killed from October 28 to November 24.

"Some 6.6 million people have fled their homes into and out of the country." "5.3 million people have been internally displaced in 4.473 locations in all states of the country (18 states).

"While some 1.3 million people have crossed into neighbouring countries," Chad, Egypt, Central Africa, Ethiopia and South Sudan ".

Last 20, the United Nations announced that 9 thousands of people had been killed in the war between the army and the Sudans "rapid support" forces since last April.

Since mid-April 2023, the Sudanese army, led by Transitional Sovereign Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo "Hemeti", has been fighting a war that has left thousands dead and wounded.
