Sudan doctors call for demonstration to stop war and continue withdrawal from Al-Obeid Hospital

The Preparatory Committee of the Sudan Doctors Union called on citizens in the safe areas of the Sudan and the cities of the world that allow demonstrations to emerge in rejection of the war and impose the will for peace and the demands of the people on both sides of the conflict and the international community.

In todays statement, the Commission condemned the transfer of war to areas outside the war to which citizens had fled the burning war and sought safety, warning that the expansion of the war was transforming it into a nationwide war and increasing the likelihood of civil war.

Referring to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attack on villages in Al-Jazeera State and the proximity of Wade Madani city, the Committee said that what was happening would exacerbate the overall collapse of health services in the Sudan, following the movement of health services and cadres as a result of the war in Khartoum.

At another level, the North Kordofan State Physicians Association decided to continue the comprehensive withdrawal from all departments of El Obeid Teaching Hospital, including cold and emergency cases. The Commission said in a statement today that armed personnel remain in the hospital despite the commitment of the Chikan Local Security Committee to prevent all types of weapons from being held on the hospital campus and to protect health facilities, according to the latest meeting between the parties concerned.

The authority decided to withdraw from the departments of Al-Obeid Teaching Hospital after a member of the regular forces assaulted a female doctor in the line of duty on November 24.
