State of Emergency Declared in the Blue Nile State

In a recent development, authorities in the Blue Nile State announced a state of emergency on Wednesday, making it the fifth state to be placed under emergency status following the Rapid Support Forces takeover of the capital of Jazeera state less than a week ago.

In the past few days, states including Sennar, Northern, River Nile, and White Nile have also declared a state of emergency.

The Blue Nile State authorities stated that the state of emergency includes a curfew from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, according to the official news agency SUNA.

The decision was justified by the authorities to preserve "the security and safety of citizens, their property, lives, and dignity, and to enhance the security situation in the region."
