The Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean of the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that it is working to strengthen its operational presence in Sudan, adapting to rapid changes to better provide life-saving services to the most vulnerable groups. The majority of the most vulnerable populations in Sudan, it noted, live in hard-to-reach areas.

In a tweet on the X platform, the office emphasized the importance of expanding access for those in need through life-saving emergency services, including secure cross-border and cross-line channels, to ensure their survival.

The World Health Organization pledged its commitment to responding to life-saving health emergencies as humanitarian needs increase in Sudan.
