Sudanese continue to seek asylum in the Central African Republic, with 70 refugees arriving daily in March.

This number represents an increase from the previous month of February, which saw an average of 37 refugees per day, yet it is lower than Januarys average of 146 refugees per day.

Since January, the number of Sudanese refugees in the Korsé camp has reached 9,539 arrivals (4,247 families), including 6,374 Sudanese individuals.

Fakaga Province, located in the eastern part of the country, hosts and receives the majority of Sudanese refugees, including the largest Sudanese refugee camp, "Korsé camp." However, it also faces significant security challenges due to the presence of armed groups disrupting civilian life and humanitarian efforts in the region.

In addition to Fakaga Province, other refugees have settled in five other provinces (Bamingui-Bangoran, Haut-Kotto, Haut-Mbomou, Ouaka, and Mbomou).

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees stated in its recent weekly report, "As of March 2nd, the UNHCR and the Central African Republic government have documented 28,785 individuals who arrived from Sudan since April 2023, including 22,627 Sudanese refugees and 6,158 returnees from the Central African Republic."

Additionally, 234 individuals with special needs were registered during the reporting week, including single parents (46%), women at risk (23%), and unaccompanied or separated children (14%).
