The Emergency Response Room in Bahri stated that officials responsible for power stations in Omdurman are obstructing the restoration of electricity to the main Bahri station located in the El Azraqab neighborhood, without specifying it, and demanded the immediate reactivation of the supply line to the Bahri City station.

In a statement yesterday, Sunday, it was clarified that the city has been without electricity for more than 12 days.

The Sudan war monitor had previously mentioned that the Sudanese Armed Forces had cut off electricity to Bahri two weeks ago, plunging residents into darkness.

Millions still reside in the three capital cities despite the exodus of several million from the city, either because they have nowhere else to go or because they lack sufficient funds to travel. According to the International Organization for Migration, about 3.5 million people have fled Khartoum State since last April, out of a total population of around 9 million.

The Bahri Emergency Room outlined the situation in the city, stating that residents of the Khartoum Bahri area have been suffering since April 15 from water cuts, unstable electricity, and the disruption of communication networks and the internet for over a month, leading to the cessation of all banking services.

It added, "With the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the suffering has increased in all aspects of civilians daily lives due to the high temperatures and the difficulty and danger of accessing the Nile for drinking water. Electricity continues to be cut off from all of Bahri City, and the water extraction pumps in the brackish water wells, which operate on electricity, have stopped, forcing water to be manually extracted in a primitive manner." This is in addition to fasting in high temperatures, breaking fast with hot water, and various difficulties in meeting their basic needs.
