Doctors Without Borders: More Than 400 Victims Killed and Injured in El Fasher

moatinoon
Doctors Without Borders said today, Wednesday, that the clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces since May 10th in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, have resulted in the death of 56 people out of 454 received at the South El Fasher hospital supported by the organization.

However, it said that the number of injuries and deaths is much higher, as the fighting is still intense, preventing many people from reaching the health facility.

The organization added in a statement on its Facebook page, "40 patients are waiting for surgery, but the hospital supplies are running out, and there is no safe place in the city."

It urged the warring parties once again to protect civilians and enable safe access and permits for Doctors Without Borders to bring more urgently needed supplies to treat the wounded.
