Adam Rojal, the spokesperson for the Darfur Displaced and Refugees Coordination, stated on Thursday that 60% of the displaced persons in Abu Shouk camp in El Fasher, North Darfur, have fled due to the ongoing battles between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

In a statement to "Muwatinun," he said, "Since 3:22 AM, 60% of the displaced persons in Abu Shouk camp, particularly from the northern blocks, have fled to unknown areas."

Abu Shouk camp, one of the three largest camps alongside Al Salam and Zamzam camps, is located 4 kilometers northwest of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, and houses displaced persons from various parts of the state.

Rijal reported that the displaced have faced widespread violations, including looting, robbery, and beatings with live ammunition inside their homes by RSF forces north of the camp. Additionally, random shelling by both warring parties has targeted the displaced persons inside the camp.

Volunteers at Abu Shouk camp mentioned that a treatment center in the camp has received thirty cases and that the fighting has resulted in several deaths and injuries. Many fatalities occurred due to the lack of an ambulance, with families holding the injured and wounded in fear of leaving due to intense clashes and difficulty in transportation.

The Abu Shouk Emergency Room published a list of 13 injured individuals, including 4 children and minors.

Violent clashes between the two sides have resumed in the northern parts of El Fasher near Abu Shouk camp and the main Milit Gate, the citys main gateway connecting North Darfur with Libya.

The RSF has imposed a tight siege on El Fasher in an attempt to seize control of the city, prompting international and regional warnings of an imminent invasion. El Fasher is home to 1.5 million people, including 800,000 displaced persons who have fled from cities across the troubled region due to the conflict.
