NRC Holds International Community to Deteriorate Conditions in Sudan

The Regional Media Adviser for East Africa at the Norwegian Refugee Council, Karl Chembri, on Sunday held the international community responsible for the deterioration of the situation in the Sudan, saying "the world has allowed the situation in this country to deteriorate and we must remember alongside the civilians stuck in the Sudan there are millions who have fled because of the ongoing violence and are in difficult circumstances."

He called on the international community to intervene to facilitate the process of bringing humanitarian assistance into the Sudan, calling on all Sudanese parties to respect and protect civilians and relief workers.

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is on the ground in various areas of the Sudan, including Darfur, but cannot meet the challenges due to the persistence of conflicts and violence, making it difficult to distribute humanitarian assistance in some parts of the country.
