The events of the Conference of Sudanese Political and Civil Forces, which explores ways to end the war in Sudan, were launched today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

"Moatinoon" informed sources reported that the democratic bloc had refused to hold direct meetings with "Tagadom". The sources said that the move had disrupted the work of the joint committees, which would discuss the cessation of war papers and facilitate the entry of humanitarian assistance to stakeholders in war-affected areas and places of displacement.

The political forces are examining the discussion of the Conferences papers individually and the formation of a joint committee to formulate a unified vision.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atti presented the list of participants at the opening meeting of the Cairo Conference. "It must be based on a pure Sudanese vision, without external pressure," the Egyptian Foreign Minister said in his opening address to the conferences, stressing the importance of "unity of the army and its role" in protecting the country.

"In the context of Egypts desire to preserve all possible efforts to assist the Sudan to overcome its current crisis and to address its grave consequences for its people, the security and stability of the region, particularly neighbouring States, and the foundation of Egypts commitments. We host this conference, which brings together all the civilian forces in the Sudan, in the presence of international partners, with a view to reaching consensus on ways to build peace through a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue based on a sincere Sudanese vision. "

At the end of May, Egypt announced its intention to hold the conference and set a date for it at the end of June, but postponed it to be held on July 6 and 7 (Saturday and Sunday).
