Rain Floods Displacement Camps in Kassala, Eastern Sudan

Kassala: Moatinoon
On Friday morning, the city of Kassala in eastern Sudan witnessed heavy rains, amounting to 118 mm, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The rainwater flooded the displacement camps, resulting in severe humanitarian conditions and a complete paralysis of daily life with the cessation of public transportation and private vehicles.

Most of the streets were filled with water, with no government intervention to drain the heavy rainfall.

The Kassala Youth Emergency Room called on owners of water pumps to immediately head to the displacement shelters at the Industrial School, the concrete structure - Omar Al-Haj Musa, and the Referral Hospital to help drain the rainwater.

The emergency room also called on everyone to provide clothing and heaters, especially childrens clothing.
