28 Killed by War Today in South Belt and Northern Darfur

Today, 28 civilians were killed in sporadic areas of the Sudan as a result of the war between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, while others were injured.

In the southern belt of Khartoum city, 7 civilians, including a child and a woman, were killed this afternoon following aerial bombardment.

The South Belt Emergency Room said that Bashir Hospital, the only hospital covering the south of Khartoum, had received 9 cases of injuries caused by the bombing, 7 which a woman and a child had died.

A Chamber statement in the incident stated that 4 siblings from one family were among todays victims. From the beginning of the year to the present, the number of civilian victims of war has risen to more than 260.

In Northern Darfur, at least 21 displaced persons were killed and others injured in a rapid support drone attack on the Goz Biena school housing displaced persons in Northern Darfur State, according to the El Fasher Resistance Committees.

In another development, the Darfur General Coordinating Body for Displaced Persons and Refugees reported that RSF had bombed the Abu Shouk displaced persons camp in El Fasher with heavy artillery, causing additional casualties.

Since May 10, El Fasher has been the scene of violent clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces. The city is a humanitarian operation centre for the Darfur region, used by the United Nations and international relief agencies.
