For the second consecutive day, humanitarian relief teams in the city of Al Marj, Libya, continued distributing shelter aid to Sudanese refugees in the country. The distribution, which took place on Friday, was overseen by the Libyan Relief Agency in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), according to a statement from the Libyan Relief and Humanitarian Aid Agency.

The operational teams of the Libyan Relief Agency, along with its branch in Al Marj municipality, led by Ahmed Al-Abidi and with the participation of UNHCR representative for eastern Libya, Salah Najm, distributed aid to 391 Sudanese families.

The aid distribution began on Thursday and concluded on Friday, aiming to meet the urgent needs of Sudanese refugees facing difficult conditions due to displacement and asylum.

Al Marj is located in northeastern Libya, between the cities of Benghazi and Al Bayda.

The provided assistance included a variety of essential supplies such as blankets, cooking utensils, water storage jerry cans, solar-powered lamps, personal care kits for men and women, and plastic sheeting for shelter.

Mohamed Al-Werfali, the official spokesperson for the Libyan Relief and Humanitarian Aid Agency, told the Libyan News Agency that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the agency, in collaboration with international and local partners, to alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting Sudanese refugees in Libya due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

He also emphasized that the agency remains committed to addressing the needs of these refugees, who have fled to Libya to escape the devastation of war in their homeland.
